We are a fast-growing non-profit social enterprise with offices in the Netherlands, Portugal, India, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Triggerise builds digital platforms that motivate users – primarily young women and adolescent girls – to make positive choices. We work together with local communities and use nudges like reminders, discounts and reward points to encourage our users to access and use health products and services. We also support our users in becoming entrepreneurs and adding value to their economies.
The Nairobi office is the biggest of Triggerise’s offices, with about 25 colleagues based there and more colleagues working from home, implementing our projects throughout Kenya. Our brand new office is located in Spring Valley, Nairobi Garage. We are also very flexible when it comes to working from home! Our people are young and our culture is global and dynamic. The Job
You’ll be responsible for designing, testing, executing and verifying a Risk Management Strategy in order to diminish the risk on the use of resources as well as ensuring compliance regulatory and donor compliance. You will be working closely with the COO and Kenya County Lead. We want you to lead the Risk team and implement necessary measures to minimize risks. You also have an important role in educating the organisation on Risk and how to make it part of our daily work.
About you
You are able to take a proactive and preemptive risk approach, analysing spikes & trends on dashboards. You can report your findings clearly and take appropriate action to mitigate any risks. You are a confident individual with good managerial skills having, ideally, led a team of Risk Managers in the past. Have you worked with an NGO before? Great. Existing knowledge of how we operate is always a bonus!
Requirements
(Must haves)
- At least 8 years of experience in a similar position.
- Able to carry out data-driven analysis, and make informed decisions about the outcome.
- Able to work to multiple project deadlines, and manage to deliver timely, quality and accurate reports.
- The ability to communicate clearly with a diverse range of people, of various professional working levels.
- At least an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (Accountancy, Audit or Risk Management.)
- Knowledgeable in developing controls that are proactive vs reactive.
- Proficient in written & spoken Kiswahili and English.
- Member of a recognised professional body (eg/ CPK, SIMA, ACCA etc).
