Maureen Achieng, as she was known, will be buried in their family home at Kopanga village along the border of Kenya and Tanzania, in Suna West constituency with fans expected to cross over the porous border.

Kenya and Tanzania closed their borders for fear of the spread of the virus.

Maureen’s brother Carlos Odira and a family spokesman told the Star that said so far they continue to receive support from the musician’s fans and supporters.

However, their biggest priority is that they have a peaceful send-off.

“As a family we were requesting for more to support for the burial programme, which will extend to have a peaceful send-off. We are working with authorities to follow order and want mourners to follow suit,” Odira said.
