Kenya has reported 15 new coronavirus cases bringing the country’s total number to 296, Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi has said.
Out of these, 11 are Kenyans, while four are foreigners. Seven hail from Mombasa County, six from Nairobi County while two come from Mandera County.
With regard to gender, seven are males while eight are female, all aged between 19-75 years of age.
The CAS said in addition said that six of the cases are from quarantine centres while nine were picked up by MoH surveillance teams.

On a positive note, the CAS said that five patients had recovered from Coronavirus and have since been discharged bringing the total of recoveries to 74.
The CAS also said that a total of 2,851 contacts have been monitored, out of which 2,121 have been discharged.
“730 contacts are being followed at the moment and a total of 14,417 samples have been tested so far,” Dr Mwangangi said.
The CAS lauded the Kenya Air Force for flying military choppers in solidarity with medical workers.
One military chopper flew a banner with the words, “God bless medics” while another had the message “Stay at home” urging Kenyans to keep safe to help control the spread of the virus.
Dr Mwangangi, however, lamented that there are cynical Kenyans who hold the view that the disease isn’t real.
“We are in a war… some of our young people are breaking curfew regulations thinking that they are unable to get the disease which is not a respecter of age, status, gender, race or religion,” Mwangangi said.
The CAS, during her daily Coronavirus briefing on Tuesday at Afya House, also urged supermarkets to devise innovative ways of dealing with goods to avoid the spread of the virus.
