Posta Kenya Delays March Salaries

by biasharadigest

The Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) employees are yet to receive their March salaries, with the organization claiming that the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected their liquidity.

According to PCK Post Master General, Dan Kagwe, suspension of international passenger flights has affected the corporation’s international business operations, resulting in decreased revenue, as they can no longer complete international orders.

Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) data shows that in 2018, Posta sent 18 million letters and 28,000 parcels internationally.

Additionally, the Communication Authority (CA) reports that the number of letters sent in 2019 between October and December stands at 10.5 million, an increase of 9.7% from those sent between July and September.

The corporation seeks to partner with the government to deliver essential supplies like food aid throughout Kenya during this crisis.
