Led by Francis Murigu, the business community members called on the National and County Governments to come up with precautionary measures to protect street families against COVID-19.

Murigu noted that street children are also part of the Country residents and and must be provided with hand sanitisers, masks and clean water.

He said they are a vulnerable lot since their job of picking and disposing garbage puts them at a high risk of exposing themselves to the virus.

James Ndugere a member of the street families, appealed for help, saying they have been neglected even as the Country puts in place measures to prevent the spread of the infectious disease.
