Kenya Airways (KQ) has suffered a loss of $8 million in revenues after the suspension of its Nairobi-Guangzhou route, amid the coronavirus outbreak.

On 31st January 2020, KQ announced temporarily suspending its flights to Guangzhou, resulting in the aircraft that operated the route to China being transferred to Dubai from 11th February 2020.11.

Before the suspension, the airline used to fly to Guangzhou three times a week.

Other regional airlines that suspended flights to China include East African Airlines, Air Tanzania and Rwandair.
