Sendy Raises $20 Million in Series B Funding

Kenyan deliveries startup, Sendy, has raised $20 million in its series B round of funding. Investors who took part in the funding include Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Atlanta Ventures, an Africa-focused early-stage venture capital fund.

According to the firm, they will use the funding to increase their competitiveness against other key players in the continent such as Lori Systems and Kobo 360. Besides, as Techcrunch reports, they have plans underway to expand to West Africa this year.

Furthermore, they will also widen recruitment and improving their existing technology.

The logistics company offers services for e-commerce, enterprise, and freight delivery. The startup currently has offices in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Some of its clients include Unilever, Jumia, Copia, DHL, Maersk and Safaricom.
