Africa junior cross-country champion Nicholas Kimeli was crowned 10-kilometer champion in the 29th edition of Discovery cross country championships held at the Eldoret Sports club.
Kimeli completed the race in 29 minutes and 46.7 seconds beating Robert Kiprop and Josephat Kipchirchir to the second and third positions respectively.
World under 20, silver medalist Lydia Jeruto won the women’s 8 kilomtre race after clocking 27 minutes and 16.29 seconds.
She defeated Frankfurt marathon winner Valary Aiyabei, former world half marathon record holder Peres Jepchirchir, Sally Kipyego and Burundian international Francine Nyosaba to win the 8km title.

Agnes Jebet won the 6 kilometre title after clocking 20 minutes and 36.67 seconds. Winnie Kimutai and Mercy Jepkoech finished second and third respectively.
Cornelius Kemboi won the 8km title beating Shadrack Kipchirchir and Emmanuel Kiplagat to the second and third positions respectively.
