A Nairobi woman has emotionally narrated how her ex-boyfriend extorted her money while citing non-existent problems to win her sympathy and love.
It all began between 2012 and 2013 when Nyina wa Bururi alias Spazbender received a direct message from a a strange Twitter user informing her that he had just lost his dad.
The man explained he did not wish to publish the father’s loss on his timeline as it was a “personal thing” and did not like sharing in the public.
Nyina said she agreed to check on him to say pole at his house located at Mirema area.
“So me, Nyakiega, I took a matatu and went to check on him. Carried even lunch, to his place in mirema. I found him down, curtains all drawn just chilling. I gave him lunch, gave him condolences,” she remembered.
The two did not discuss about the burial date and funeral arrangements, according to a tweet the woman posted on Wednesday, December 25.
After the burial, somehow they became more intimate with very little to no strings attached, just making love and that was it.
Upon graduating in 2013, the city woman got a job that was paying KSh 30,000, which she admitted was pretty much for a fresh campus graduate with no responsibility.
“I got a part time job that was paying me KSh 30k a month. Pretty good given I didn’t have many responsibilities so all I’d do is drink, eat, gawia the folks kidogo and thassit! 30k is a loooot of money because ukiwa campo mzinga expensive ni 600 bob,” she explained.
Soon the jamaa whose Twitter username is Iam Porgy, saw an opportunity to reap and soon, he claimed the landlord was on his neck for delayed rent, he has some unpaid loans to settle and this and that.
He started borrowing little money which was now accumulating with promises to refund once his salary checked in but what followed was an endless ping pong game.
“He asked to borrow some cash and he would refund. I was like, fine. Salo ikiingia he’lol pay me back. We met, I gave him the cash and life moved on. So a couple of weeks later, I don’t get my cash back. Sahii deni ilikua imefika around 20k,” she continued.
Despite having received a total of KSh 20,000, the dude would still beg, plead, go on his knees to ask for more until the lady’s eyes opened in 2015 when she said enough was enough.
She told him to keep the cash.
As they say, nothing gets in between two people who are mad love. The two hooked up again after the man said he wanted to make amends so peace could prevail.
Later, he claimed that he had eye infections and was badly in need of money to enable him raise medical bill plus his mother was no more.
At this point, he requested for KSh 5,000 but Nyina was able to send him KSh 2,000 which he promised to pay, again.
That was just one among the instances he swindled her despite their second link up.
“Then some time he was meant to chuck cash for chama and he didn’t have. Again, borrowed me. Begged, pleaded, promised to pay back. The initial amount he’d paid some of it back, so I thought he’s a changed man. Nikampea. These niggas never change! I came to learn later,” she said.
Nyina later on realised the said mother died when her ex-lover was still in primary school and that the father was still alive.
“Anyway, @iamporgy, I am loud and I have said it here for everyone to see. Stop manipulating people and seeking pity to get money. It’s a sick behavior. You are a mental case and you need help. I hope you get it,” she cautioned.
