President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga will soon launch countrywide campaigns to popularize the BBI initiative.

This is according to the ODM Leader who disclosed on Tuesday the intended tours is meant to sensitize Kenyans on the contents of the report while urging them to share their views with the technical experts before the final report is drafted.

The ODM leader who was in Budalangi during Bunyala Cultural Festival wants Kenyans to resist attempts by leaders to paint the whole process in a bad light.

He, however, warned Kenyans against embracing politicians whom he claimed are bent attainting the report by insinuating that it doesn’t serve their interests.

Those accompanying Raila, including Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, drummed support for BBI saying it addresses ways that best guide the strengthening of devolution and entrenching unity in the country.

This as Kikuyu council of elders led by their national chairman Wachira Kiago urged politicians to refrain from injecting unwarranted politics into the report claiming this might jeopardize the whole process which it termed noble.

Their sentiments were echoed by Samburu women representative Maison Leshoomo who rallied her constituents to back the report given that, in her opinion, President Kenyatta means well for the country.
