Nancy Matimu has been named the new MultiChoice Kenya Managing Director, taking over from Eric Odipo who left the firm to pursue other interests, effective December 2019.
Prior to joining MultiChoice Kenya, Nancy was the Vice-President, Head Market Development Sub Saharan Africa at MasterCard.
According to MultiChoice Africa Northern Region Director, Maharage Chande, the appointment comes at a critical time for the video entertainment business. “This new appointment will play a major role in delivering the experience our customers deserve”.
Following her appointment, Nancy Matimu becomes first female managing director to head MultiChoice Kenya.

Prior to joining MultiChoice Kenya, Matimu served various companies in different capacities including Chief Digital & Marketing Officer at HFC Bank as well as General Manager Marketing & Head of Products & Innovation Revenue Management- Airtel Africa.
She holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Strathmore University, a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Kenyatta University and a Post Graduate Diploma (CIM) in Marketing.
Matimu is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) & Chief Executive Program (CEP) from Strathmore, IESE and Lagos Business Schools.
In a statement sent to newsrooms the new MD says “I am delighted to join Kenya’s leading video entertainment company and to be the first female managing director of the business. I’m looking forward to leading this business at what is an exciting time for the industry and the Multichoice Group“. MultiChoice Kenya is a joint venture with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.
