Six people are nursing serious injuries after the bus they were travelling in rammed into a truck on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
The Chania Genesis company-owned bus was headed to Mombasa from Nairobi when the accident occurred.
The Sunday morning accident also left 24 other passengers nursing minor injuries.
Voi sub-county Police Commander Bernstein Shari, while confirming the incident, said the casulties had since been transferred to the Moi County Refferal Hospital.
The six – most of whom suffered broken ribs, head and tissue injuries – may however be transferred to Mombasa for specialised treatment
Police have also launched a manhunt for two drivers who fled the scene after the accident.
Mr. Shari further cautioned motorists to be vigilant on the road, announcing that officers have launched a crackdown on motorists who will be found flouting road rules.
