All Safaricom shops countrywide will close for four hours on Thursday in honour of their late CEO Bob Collymore.
The shops will remain closed from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm during a memorial service that will be held at All Saints Cathedral.
In a statement, the company said this will give Kenyans and its employees an opportunity to reflect on his life.
Collymore’s body was cremated at Kariokor Crematorium in Nairobi on Tuesday in a private ceremony attended by his close family members, invited friends and a few staff members from Safaricom.

The late Collymore succumbed to cancer at his home in the wee hours of July 1, 2019. The 61-year-old had been battling with Acute Myeloid Leukemia for almost two years.
His tenure at Safaricom was to come to an end in August 2019 but the company extended his contract by one more year.
