Dennis Itumbi will spend the night at Muthaiga Police Station awaiting to be charged in court on Thursday over an alleged plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
His lawyer Moses Chesang’ says Itumbi was arrested over links to an alleged assassination letter published in the public domain.
Dennis Itumbi a digital strategist who is based at the office of the Deputy President was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal investigations in Nairobi Central Business District and taken to the Directorate of Criminal investigations offices along Kiambu Road for further interrogation.
This development comes after three Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya of Trade, Joe Mucheru of ICT and Sicily Kariuki of Health were summoned at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation last Monday over a letter alleging a plan to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.

Itumbi’s lawyer Moses Chesang’ says the charges preferred against his client are unclear.
Detectives at the weekend hinted that investigations into the alleged assassination plot had narrowed down to two aides suspected to have generated and circulated a letter which is said to have been fake.
Itumbi is expected to be arraigned in court Thursday morning.
