Mwananchi Credit emerged the most preferred credit microfinance in logbook loans in the inaugural Automotive Sector Excellence Awards. The event, which was held last evening at Movenpick Hotel in Westlands, Nairobi, was attended by automotive industry players including insurance, transport sector players and manufacturers.
The Automotive Sector Excellence Awards recognize and celebrate key players in various segments of the automotive industry who have over the years achieved outstanding results in their niche and have positively impacted the lives of their clients.
Mwananchi had been nominated in three other categories namely Credit Only Microfinance, Most Promising Credit Institution in Logbook Loans and Most Promising Credit Only Microfinance in Automotive Finance.
“This is a first for this industry,” said Mwaanchi Credit Chief Executive officer Denis Mombo, speaking after the event. “It’s a noble gesture by the organisers and it’s time different segments in the automotive industry were recognised. It also shows confidence Kenyans have in Mwananchi Credit. This is another mile stone in our ten-year history and we will strive to keep serving our customers better.”
Owning a car comes with class and convenience in Kenya. According the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), there has been an exponential growth in the number of cars on Kenyan road over the past five years.
This increase leads to an exponential growth for the sectors that are directly related and provide services to car owners. The logbook often always comes in handy when the car own is in need of credit.
