Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has extended its working hours in a move to give taxpayers more room to file their returns.
This comes two weeks ahead of the Sunday, June 30 deadline when that authority will close the exercise that kicked off on Tuesday, January 1.
The time extension has been effected by KRA’s Service Centers, Contact Centers and Huduma Centers.
During weekdays, Service Centers will operate from 7am to 9pm while on Saturdays, services will be offered right from 9am to 1pm.
Citizens reaching the Contact Center will be able to receive services between 6am to midnight during weekdays.
On Saturdays, KRA’s Contact Center will run from 9am to 4pm while on Sundays, the it will be reachable until 1pm from 9am.
On Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, taxpayers will receive services from both Contact and Service Centers from 9am up to midnight.
Huduma Centers with extended operational hours are GPO, City Square, Nakuru, Kisumu, Meru Mombasa and Kiambu (Thika Town). They will be open from 6.30am to 7.30pm during weekdays.
All other Huduma Centers will operate from 8am to 5pm everyday until Friday, June 28.
Taxpayers have, therefore, been urged to turn up for the excise sooner to avoid being caught up in last minute rush among other inconveniences
