– Passaris dismissed Governor Mike Sonko’s rants as mere lies aimed at ruining her political career
– The woman leader said she will fight back to clean her name and reputation
– Sonko and Passaris have been embroiled in war of words since the beginning of the month of June
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has made a solemn promise to bring down Governor Mike Sonko for allegedly tarnishing her name through false allegations.
Sonko and Passaris have been embroiled in a series of public spats since Madaraka Day celebrations held on Saturday, June 1.
Speaking in Mombasa on Thursday, June 13, at the second annual Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (Kippra) conference, the women rep vowed to ruin the political career of the county boss for intimidating her.
“I am going to bring down Sonko because it is ridiculous that we have such a governor in Nairobi”, she said
The county woman leader stated she would not mind what her quest to punish Sonko would cost her insisting she the threat would come to pass.
” I have been cautioned by some people that I should not revenge because the governor might ruin my reputation further. I want to assure you I will not relent in my quest until I bring him down,” said Passaris
The two county leaders have been at loggerheads for the better part of June 2019, with the governor accusing the woman rep of being an extortionist.
Sonko claimed the woman leader was demanding money from him and on several occasions asked for double per diem.
The Nairobi leader further alleged Passaris attempted to lure her into a room at Intercontinental Hotel despite him being a married man.
The county MP has since dismissed the allegations and accused Sonko of being malicious and misleading the public with “a string of unsustainable lies”.
