“Following the unfortunate incident, Sidney was placed under immediate medical attention and my office is being appraised of and reacting to the boy’s condition to ensure he gets proper treatment. Praying for a quick recovery,” said the DP in his late Friday, June 7, post on Twitter.
However, on Saturday early morning the DP updated that the young boy had passed on and he sent his message of condolence to the family.
“Saddened by the news of the passing on of Sidney Mamba Felix, a young and bubbly boy. Followed closely the situation after I was informed of the unfortunate incident and, now, deeply condole with the family of Mzee Mamba, his peers and friends for the grave loss of a loved one,” said the DP on a Twitter post on Saturday, June 8.
The boy was hit while the DP was leaving Busia in his entourage.
Ruto was accompanied by politicians from the county during launch of KSh 5.8 billion 10,000-acre Lower Nzoia Irrigation Project that will benefit over 12,000 households of Port Victoria in Budalangi, Busia.
